THE Wanderers ran out comfortable 4-1 winners at the Salisbury & District Premier Division champions, Durrington Dynamos, on Saturday.

The game sprung into life when Nick Newman pounced with a smart finish from a left-wing cross, his fifth of the season. Things got even better for the Wanderers five minutes later when Adam Jones was put through and made no mistake, smashing the ball home to double the lead.

It could have been 3-0 at the break but Newman had an effort controversially ruled out for offside. The visitors did eventually get that third goal in the 72nd minute when substitute Tim Fewins set up Jones with his first touch, and got a goal of his own moments later. Craig Stevens pulled one back for Durrington after 80 minutes.

Porton Sports took the a 10th-minute lead at Devizes Inn when Mike Budd toed home an Andy Mearns long-range shot. Budd had a goal ruled out for offside in the second half, but they did get breathing space when Neil Underwood's effort was headed in by a Devizes defender. The home team had a great chance at the death to reduce the deficit but missed terribly.

Enford and Deacon Alms played out a 4-4 thriller in the Heseltine Cup before Deacons won 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out. The hosts raced into a two-goal lead before Rich Daley headed in for Deacons, but Enford then made it 3-1.

Ant Papapanayotou and Dan Gevaux made sure the tie went to extra time, during which Gevaux's superb 25-yard lob put them ahead for the first time. There was one last twist though as Enford forced penalties.

Gevaux, Matt Wyeth, Robbie Thorn and Josh Fryer were reliable from the spot. Enford missed one and Mike Cooper decisively saved their fourth.
