LEADERS The Wanderers ended their closing game of 2013 on a high after seeing-off rock-bottom Devizes Inn in Salisbury and District Saturday Premier League.

The 6-0 away romp started with Adam Jones setting up Nick Newman to fire home inside 60 seconds.

Devizes then missed two good chances to level things up but The Wanderers survived the scare.

In the 35th minute, Ben Coveney scored his first of the season with a neat finish.

After the break The Wanderers turned the screw, with Jones scoring goal of the game following a fantastic team move, which tore apart the opposition’s defence.

Skipper Andrew Duffy smashed home a fourth soon after – courtesy of a Guthrie corner, then Steph Tinkler’s penalty and Tim Fewins’ glorious effort closed the curtains on Devizes.

Porton Sports were pegged back by Tisbury United in their midtable clash on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead when Neil Underwood smashed home from close range after the keeper saved Si Roberts’ header.

They then doubled their lead inside five minutes of the restart when Luke Nicklen slotted home from close range.

But a second-half revival from Tisbury clawed it back to 2-2.

In Saturday Division 1, Value Cars enjoyed a blistering 5-2 win over Enford in a six pointer.

Lewis Coombs equalised for Value after Enford had taken the lead.

James Hennessy converted from the spot to give Value a 2-1 lead but that was short-lived as Daniel Revell converted an own goal to put the hosts back on level terms.

But Revell made amends by restoring his side’s lead, which Coombs and Alan Lucas added to late on.
