CHALKE Valley and Amesbury Kings Arms reached the semi-final stage of the Salisbury and District Charity B Cup.

Amesbury secured their spot with a thumping 4-1 away win at Whiteparish on Saturday.

After some heavy pressure, the visitors didn’t cave in, as instead they took the lead midway through the first half when Martin Luke headed home his fifth goal of the season.

Although Whiteparish levelled before half-time, the second half was dominated by Amesbury. Ashley Fox set up Robbie Homebury, who restored the lead with a screaming strike from the edge of the box. Homebury then bagged his second of the match with a close-range volley to make it 3-1.

Tom Brown marked a man of the match performance by turning two defenders inside out and smashing the ball home late on to make the final score 4-1.

Valley beat Stockton and Codford Reserves 3-2 to set-up a tie with either Value Cars or Durrington WMC.

In youth football, Clarendon Juniors under 12s, who recently announced a new sponsorship deal, were 3-1 victors over Fordingbridge. Evan Clem, Louis Croal and Ollie Cooper scored.
