ALDERBURY FC’S quest for completing the majestic quadruple is now on after lifting their first Wiltshire Junior Cup.
They made it a hat-trick of cup wins by comfortably seeing-off Freshford United at Warminster FC’s ground 4-2.
The Salisbury and District leaders, who are two wins away from sealing the league crown, never looked in doubt against the Trowbridge & District League Division One Champions.
An eighth minute goal by Matt Baker got Alderbury off to a sublime start. That lead was cancelled out shortly before the break as Freshford hit-back with a leveller as the half finished at 1-1.
The rest worked wonders for Alderbury as they came out roaring in the second half, picking up a goal three minutes in via Steve Holvey.
Mark Scott added a third before Freshford poached one back. A late missed penalty saw Freshford miss the chance of sending the game to extra time. Instead, Alderbury were awarded a spot kick and substitute Ryan Hillier stepped up and duly dispatched.
The already-winners of Premier Cup and Morrison Cup need a win and a draw in their remaining two games against Porton Sports and The Wanderers to lift the league title.
