WEST Harnham snatched a last-gasp point in their Salisbury and District (Saturday) Premier opener with South Newton and Wishford.

The visitors, last season's Division One champions, stood firm in the opening half of their Premier adventure, not conceding.

However, after missing a gilt-edged chanced after the resumption, they buckled when

Adam Payne, who latched on to a Richard Tutton header, chipped Charlie Street in the goalmouth.

Back came the visitors and eight minutes from time they conjured up a leveller.

South Newton player/manager Keith Darling lamented his side’s lack of concentration, "If you don't keep your minds on the game for 90 minutes it can cost you, and it cost us on Saturday," he said.

Elsewhere, Mac N'Jie salvaged a point for Amesbury Kings Arms at home to D.I UTD.

Holders Alderbury breezed to a 3-0 victory over Chalke Valley while Porton Sports and Stockton and Codford's opener was abandoned five minutes into the second half due to a player injury.

In Division One, RCFC went to the summit after marching past Value Cars with a 4-1 romp and Railway Social Club secured a solitary goal win over South Newton and Wishford Reserves.
