PORTON Sports and Nomansland & Landford played out a thrilling Morrison Cup tie on Saturday.

Matt Lucas steered home an Andy Fung mis-hit after five minutes, before Nomansland equalised with a fine effort midway through the half. Mike Budd put Porton back in front, heading home from a corner, and then Budd grabbed his second before half time from the penalty spot.

A quickfire Nomansland double levelled the tie up but centre back Si Roberts slid in at the far post to make it 4-3 with 10 minutes to go.

West Harnham's back four of the 1970s and 1980s, Pete Arrandale, Tony Crouch, Steve Gower and Pete Jacobs, all turn 60 this year and will hold a reunion at the club on Saturday, October 19. The band Laser will be playing songs from that era.
