A THREADBARE Sarum Youth Seniors received a six-goal hammering at the home of the defending champions.

Seniors, who travelled to Southbrook without 11 first team players, started the game in great style with terrific energy and were soon bossing the game.

But, after a goalless first half, things went from bad to worse after Sarum went on to concede six goals.

Boss Dave Rawkins said: “Apart from the scoreline, I could not be happier.

“Every player gave their absolute all and put in a terrific performance.

“The first half was something I really did not expect and we should have been in front as we were much the better side.

They eventually overpowered us but that was to be expected as we only had 12 players and a stand-in keeper.”

On the way home, three Sarum players were taken to hospital after being involved in a car accident. They were later released with minor injuries.

Rawkins added: “The team and the club wish them all a speedy recovery and see them back in a Sarum shirt soon.”
