Holmes' reaction to Farsley draw

NICK Holmes was rueing his side's missed chances after being held to a 2-2 draw away at Farsley Celtic.

Whites arrived in Yorkshire looking for three wins in a row in their Blue Square Premier campaign, however they twice had to come from behind to ensure they returned home with a share of the spoils.

Aaron Cook's 87th minute equaliser cancelled out a 45-yard wonder-goal by Gareth Grant, which looked to have handed the hosts a win they barely deserved.

His 67th minute wind-assisted strike sailed over Ryan Clarke, who had headed the ball clear just moments earlier after a long ball forward had caused City's defence problems.

Loan-player Adam Sandell had already put City level, cancelling out Tris Whitman's goal with a stunning strike seven minutes before the break.

Holmes said: "First half we dominated 90-per-cent of the game and played some good football.

"The finishing was a little bit woeful, apart from Andy Sandell's strike that went in.

"At the end of the day, it was a good goal they scored to go 2-1 up but you're always disappointed to give it away like that.

"Occasionally they caused us problems because their boys up front were lively.

"We have to be pleased to get a point but, on the balance of play, we should have had three.

"To be fair to all of them, that was one hell of a strong wind out there and it was blowing more or less straight down the pitch.

"To judge the ball today was very difficult and you have to feel for them. You can play in the rain, the snow and the sunshine but the wind is the one that makes you look an ass at times.

"It's usually with his feet Aaron scores. But we know he'll score a few like that for us."
