SALISBURY CITY dug deep and produced an almighty comeback to keep their unbeaten record at the Ray Mac in place and cement their position at the height of Conference South.

Despite a rapid start from the hosts, Chelmsford took a fortuitous lead inside 19 minutes through top-scorer Jamie Slabber and Max Cornhill’s glancing header doubled the Clarets’ cushion, before Jamie White pulled one back five minutes before the interval, to half the deficit.

But the Whites transformed in the second-half and Stuart Sinclair drilled home an equaliser inside the area after 54 minutes.

And the comeback was complete 12 minutes later by Dan Fitchett, whose deflected effort toppled into the roof of the net to round off a remarkable afternoon.
