BRUISED Chris McPhee is no stranger to being fielded out of position and Good Friday's match could see him team up with skipper Glenn Wilson at centre-half.

The midfielder/striker could be called upon to put in a shift across the back four, depending on City’s injury situation. James Clarke and Kevin Amankwaah could both be doubtful after picking up knocks on Saturday, Angus MacDonald is suspended and Brian Dutton, Clovis Kamdjo and Callum Hart have all been out with injury.

If all or some of the players are still unavailable, McPhee is likely to use his towering prowess in defence against his old club Aldershot Town.

“Everyone’s been pulling in the right direction all season despite injuries,” said McPhee, 31, who suffered a nasty gash to his left eye from a challenge last weekend, resulting in stitches.

“With a cut head you don’t want to be heading too many balls but that’s a huge part of my game at the moment and I’m happy to slot in and compete the best I possibly can.

“I’m not sure what the status is on Brian and Callum, so I could be playing at the back like I did for the last 20 minutes against Lincoln.

“If I’m asked to do a job then I’ll go and do it. I played a fair few games at centre-half during my time at Kidderminster Harriers, and if I do start there from the off next to Wilson I’ll do everything I can.

“I back myself in the air against anyone. It’s just the clever bits of play you have to watch out for.”
