THE Football Conference will make a decision on Salisbury City’s future at 1pm today.

Whites requested more time to pay players’ wages bills after failing to meet yesterday’s 5pm deadline, but their appeal was rejected.

The Conference board announced they are now following “legal process matters under company law articles.”

Last night Whites released a statement indicating they had asked for an extension and had banned chairman Otail Touzar from the club.

The Old Sarum outfit are currently taking legal action to overturn Mr Touzar’s ownership.

A statement on City's website reads: “A 5pm deadline set by the Conference to address some financial issues relating to Salisbury City has passed without any action being taken against the club for the time being.”

“Salisbury City have asked for an extension from the league and presented them with evidence to support their claim.”

“Furthermore, the club have, upon legal advice, taken steps to remove the current owner Otail Touzar after information surfaced questioning the legitimacy of his takeover of the club. Following consultation with legal experts, Mr Touzar has been banned from the club and will be served with legal papers in the forthcoming days to overturn his ownership."

"At this point in time no further statement will be made."

The Journal contacted Mr Touzar by email last night to ask him what his plan of action is and whether he would be putting money into the club. Although he did not answer the questions directly he claimed he still had the interests of the club at heart.

If City do get expelled, Dartford will have the chance to join Chester FC back in the Conference Premier.

Keep checking the Journal website for further updates.

John Wigs says...

Why wasn't this man vetted first? It is quite normal to ask for credentials in business. Has he the money or not? Did 'The Whites' present a balance sheet of the state of the club before inviting him? Old Ray Mac would have done all those things and more.
