BEGAN his career with Birmingham City, where he made more than 70 appearances under then boss Trevor Francis.

Later had spells with Hartlepool United - where he helped them win promotion from League 2 as runners-up - Carlisle United and Bristol Rovers, from where he joined Salisbury during the summer of 2006.

The 32-year-old right back or central defender has also played in Malaysia, where he won Super League honours with Pahang FA.

After being released by Bristol Rovers at the end of the 2005/06 season, Jon left the pro game to become a trainee quantity surveyor in the family business.

Had an impressive first season with the Whites, and was an ever-present member of the Conference South play-off winning team.
