A former Welsh youth international, Fowler began his career with Crystal Palace.

Had loan spells at Stevenage Borough and Wrexham before signing for Woking.

Has also played for Welling United, Cwmbran Town (helping them reach the Welsh FA Cup final) and Merthyr Tydfil, where he was made captain under manager Tim Harris.

Followed Harris to Southern League Premier Division side Gloucester City, from where he joined Salisbury in January 2007.

Although first team appearances were limited due to an injury, he returned to fitness in time to help Whites secure promotion, scoring his first goal for the club in the play-off semi-final second leg against Bishop’s Stortford. Turned pro with City at the start of the 2007/08 season.
