Salisbury-born striker returned to the Old Sarum club in 2004 from Eastleigh, having previously risen through the Whites' ranks.

Has also played for Bemerton Heath Harlequins and had trials with Southampton.

Although first team starts have been limited due to the success of the Sales-Tubbs partnership, Matthews has come off the bench to score some crucial goals for City.

Was invited to turn pro at the start of the 2007/8 season and, aged just 25, has a bright future at the club.
