Ryan Clarke
Salisbury City FC

Ryan Clarke Ryan Clarke

Squad number: 1
Birthdate: April 30, 1982
Birthplace: Bristol
Signed for City: August 2006
Appearances: 91
Goals: 0 (as of February 9, 2008)

AFTER playing a key role in City’s promotion from the Conference South in his first season with the club, Clarke became one of the first players to be offered pro terms ahead of their Blue Square Premier debut.

Although only 25, the Bristol-born goalkeeper has a wealth of Football League and Conference experience.

Began his playing career with Bristol City but it was with their cross-city rivals Rovers that he made his Football League debut.

He made 23 appearances for the Pirates before loan spells with Southend United (where he was part of the squad which won promotion in 2004 to League One), Kidderminster Harriers (6 apps) and Forest Green Rovers (42 apps).

Signed for Whites in the summer of 2006 and immediately made the number one shirt his own, keeping 22 clean sheets in 56 league and cup games.

Would have been an ever-present in City’s league campaign, but for a one-match suspension following a red card against Farnborough Town. Has started every Blue Square Premier match for the Whites so far this season, keeping 11 clean sheets.
