Squad number: 13
Birthdate: October 1, 1971
Birthplace:
Signed for City: February 2005
Appearances: 70 (plus 4 as sub) Goals: 4 (as of August 10, 2007)

Inspirational player-coach, who added a new dimension to the club when he quit the Football League to sign for City in February 2005 from Port Vale.

The vastly experienced midfielder began his career with Southampton, making his debut for the Saints at Goodison Park.

Also played for Wigan Athletic, Grimsby Town, Port Vale, Hartlepool United, Macclesfield Town and Port Vale.

Won three promotions during his Football League career along with the LDV Vans Trophy with Port Vale and the Auto Windscreen Shield at Wembley with Grimsby.

Ironically, just before his move to Salisbury, Widdrington’s appearance at Stockport County meant he had played on all 92 league grounds.

Suffered a serious knee injury in an FA Cup tie at Eastleigh last term, which ruled him out of much of the remainder of their promotion-winning campaign.
