REFORMED Salisbury FC say future plans rely heavily on getting the green-light to re-occupy the stadium they have used for the past 17 years.

The consortium running the phoenix club has had talks with the trustees on returning to the Ray Mac and they expect to hear an outcome by the beginning of next month (February).

While they await a verdict, the club hope to host a fans’ forum to allow supporters to hear from first team manager Steve Claridge, and the board, about ongoing matters.

And applications to Wiltshire FA and the FA to rejoin the football pyramid are taking shape.

Advisor Ian Ridley told the supporters’ club website: “To be honest, very little is happening currently as we cannot really do much until we receive the go-ahead from the trustees to re-occupy the Ray Mac stadium. As we understand it, they are considering their position and we expect them to come back to us with their thoughts by the beginning of February.

“Again, as we go forward, much will depend on which league we are placed in by the FA. We are making applications to the Wiltshire FA and presenting our case to the FA in March/April for returning to the pyramid but we are probably unlikely to know where we have been allocated until May at the earliest.

“We also plan soon, as things become clearer, to be in contact with the supporters’ club and have a meeting to outline the structure of the new club and enlist their help and input. This does not mean we are not working hard behind the scenes to get things going. Steve is already looking at building a squad for next season and we are making commercial plans.”

Mandy Woolford, who previously worked for the Whites, has rejoined the club as commercial manager.

Ridley added: “Mandy has good contacts, is well-known to the business community, has the club's interests at heart and will bring her skill and experience to help generate the revenue we need to get the club back on the rise again.”

Fans are currently designing potential crests for the new club but the board says until it becomes “financially feasible”, they won’t be making any changes in apparel and, in the meantime, will continue to use the current logo.
