FAMILIAR faces returned to their old stamping ground for a well-contested friendly with Salisbury FC.

Homegrown Matt Tubbs and Rob Sinclair joined Scott Bartlett in the Forest Green dug out and watched the 2-2 draw at the Ray Mac.

It was a third successive draw for Steve Claridge’s Whites with the 11 brought by Bartlett, who made more than 400 appearances for the Whites in a nine-year period, proving a stern match.

A decent crowd of 458 – about 300 lower than their last two attendances – saw the four-goal feast on a drizzly Friday evening.

Claridge has been using the games as experiments to help assemble a squad for his side’s 2015/16 Wessex Premier campaign.

He's been shopping for players, and captured his first signings.

Well-known Sam Roberts, a product of the academy, has returned to his Salisbury roots after a season at Gosport Borough and games at Lymington.

The quick-acting midfielder has penned a deal along with ex-Bristol Rovers striker Lamar Powell.

Powell, 21, spent 2014/15 at Taunton Town, who he helped reach the Southern League South and West Division One play-offs.

“These are two good acquisitions,” said Claridge, “and there will be more to come after Friday’s game.

“I will be looking at six or seven potential new players that I think will excite our supporters.”

Last week the club released season ticket prices and, after hearing fans' views, they’ve decided to lower the rate for under-16s.

They’ve dropped the price from £4 to £2 on matchdays and £30 for a season ticket instead of £50.
