MORE fans flocked through the turnstiles for Saturday's FA Vase semi-final than they did when twice European champions Nottingham Forest visited the city ground ten years ago.

That day in November 2006, 3,100 people watched Matt Tubbs earn Salisbury a 1-1 draw against then League One outfit and a second round replay in the FA Cup.

That attendance has twice been surpassed, once in the Conference South play-off final against Dover Athletic with 3,408, and then on Saturday 3,450 fans saw Hereford - a new Ray Mac record.

"It was brilliant," said Whites manager Steve Claridge.

"I'm just disappointed that we've let ourselves down more than anything us."

"It's been wonderful.

"It's no consolation but it has been two wonderful games and, ultimately, what we cannot allow is for this disappointment to overshadow everything else we've done."
