SALISBURY City Youth FC’s under 12s are celebrating after receiving a stylish new set from the city's McDonald’s restaurant.

The restaurant on Winchester Street has donated the kit to the team as part of the McDonald’s FA Charter Standard Kit Scheme, which is now in its second year.

To mark the occasion, the club held an event at their ground, where McDonald’s business manager and community football supporter Andy Buckingham delivered the kit to the team during one of their training sessions.

Ed Searle from Salisbury City Youth FC said: “We’re hugely grateful to McDonald’s for donating a new kit for our under-12s team.

"An average team strip costs around £500 per season, so this really is a huge saving for us and means we can spend the money on other areas of the club that need it. The kids absolutely love wearing their new strip. Having the kit has created fantastic unity and team spirit and has given the kids extra motivation to train and have a great season.”

Formed in 1995, Salisbury City Youth has developed into a large club, with 17 youth teams from under-7s through to the under 18s.
