SAM Wilson is one goal away from snatching the golden boot.

The marksman returned to the top of the Sydenhams Wessex Premier goal chart after hitting a double in Salisbury's 3-2 win at Fareham Town on Tuesday night.

His converted free kick and penalty puts him on 39 goals for the season - joint top with Sholing marksman Dan Mason - as Whites bounced back from the Wiltshire Senior Cup final defeat and thumping at AFC Portchester.

A goal in Whites' final league fixture on Saturday at home to Newport (IOW), where the league trophy will be presented, will clinch the boot as the Boatmen have concluded their campaign.

Both of his goals, though, were cancelled out before the break from Andy Tattersall then Josh Taylor.

But with 15 minutes left, Steve Walker marked his return from suspension with a header to secure a 33rd league victory.

That feat takes them to 198 competitive goals for the term and over the 100-point mark.
