TOUGH-TACKLING defenders Steve Walker and Elliot Wheeler have penned new deals at Salisbury FC.

Walker, 26, made 40 appearances for the Whites in the season they were crowned Sydenhams Wessex Premier champions.

The towering centre half was rewarded for his efforts by being voted supporters' player of the year.

After signing a new deal, he said on Twitter: "Happy to have agreed a new 1 year extension at the ray Mac! #greatfans #goodthingstocome #rollonnewseason COYW."

He is joined by fellow defender Elliot Wheeler, who made 20 appearances in three months for the Whites.

The 22-year-old began his career with Portsmouth before joining Premier League Stoke City and playing for their Under 21s. After a spell with Nuneaton in the Conference, he joined Gosport before coming to the Ray Mac in February.

Meanwhile, striker Ashley Jarvis has left the club to join Moneyfields in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.
