JACK Vallis has switched Salisbury for league rivals AFC Totton.

The giant centre-half, 23, has opted for a move to the Testwood Stadium after a season with Whites in Sydenhams Wessex Premier.

Vallis, who got married in the summer, found the net five times in 17 appearances in his spell at the Ray Mac.

But his season was brought to a halt at the start of April when sustaining a hairline fracture to his left ankle.

He trialled with Ian Ridley and Steve Claridge's former club Weymouth in pre-season before signing a permanent deal with the Stags.

"I would like to thank everyone at Salisbury, the fans, the players, the management and all behind the scenes at the club for a great and memorable season," Vallis told JournalSport.

"I enjoyed every minute of it, it was pleasure to be involved in such a great club and I wish them all the best in the coming season.

"It was a fantastic season as a team, with a very good dressing room of players but, on a personal level, it wasn't my best with injuries and fitness.

"The decision to join Totton comes after a pre-season with Weymouth in which I decided the travelling would be a bit much. And game time being a priority for the coming year."

Vallis will line-up against his former colleagues in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West. The first clash takes place on August Bank Holiday Monday at Totton with the reverse fixture on Boxing Day.

Among Vallis' former clubs are Amesbury Town, Eastleigh, Gillingham Town and Frome Town.
