THREE summer signings found the net as Salisbury bounced back from double league defeats after thumping winless Bishops Cleeve 4-1 - but head coach Steve Claridge says things are "not right".

Sutton United loanee Tommy Wright started off proceedings with a fourth goal in as many games after curling Lewis Benson's through ball into the bottom corner.

Wright was then denied by the upright before partner-in-crime Justin Bennett headed home a second on the half hour mark.

Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain netted his first goal on 60 minutes for the Whites since signing on-loan from Portsmouth, his thunderous half volley appeared to have crossed the line before it was scrambled clear.

Moments later, Mark Magee reduced the arrears with a driven shot that clipped off the upright, beating debutant keeper Alex Bass, who signed just hours before kick-off from Pompey.

That proved to be a mere consolation for the Gloucestershire visitors as Bennett treated 581Whites' fans to a sumptuous finish which made sure of three Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West points.

"It was a convincing win and we should have won by quite a few more as we missed a plethora of chances but it's not right, and I know it's not right," Claridge explained to JournalSport.

"If we played like that against maybe Taunton and Winchester we might have got beaten again. I don't think we've played any better than we have against those two.

"We've been very good in a couple of games and we should have got something out of them. It's not right, the balance isn't there yet, personnel isn't there to give us that balance and we need to get some players in and get some players fit."

Salisbury return to action on Saturday when they host Bitton AFC, from Toolstation Premier Division, in the preliminary round of the FA Cup (3pm).
