RAMPANT Salisbury FC went on a ten-goal spree as they humiliated higher opposition Dorchester Town in the first round of the Challenge League Cup.

The Southern Premier outfit - who are one tier above Whites - were in for a long night when they found themselves 7-0 down at the break.

Former Magpie Steve Walker, brother of Nathan Walker who was unable to feature, started the rout after heading home a corner on 19 minutes.

And just four minutes later, the same thing happened again.

It was soon 3-0 to the home side as Justin Bennett drilled the ball home past Dorchester keeper Jordan Mullis, and, after just 29 minutes, Ollie Mehew then got in on the act to score his first goal for Salisbury.

The Magpies did attempt to fight back and had the ball in the net themselves soon after, but the effort was chalked off for offside.

It was then five as Mehew got his second from the penalty spot, Bennett broke through to add a sixth and Mehew added his third to make it a staggering seven at the break.

Neil Martin and Lewis Morgan were then introduced after the break in place of Jamil Roberts and Owen Nicolson as the away side looked to add a bit more experience.

But an eighth then came for the Steve Claridge's men as Calum Brockway, recently back from injury, headed in from a corner on 68 minutes.

Bennett then joined the hat-trick club to make it 9-0 before adding his fourth and Whites' tenth with 13 minutes to go.

Whites: Bass, Brockway, Leigh, Roberts, Walker, Perrett, Benson, O'Keefe, Mehew, Bennett, Mundy.
