SUPER striker Justin Bennett netted his fourth hat-trick of the season as Salisbury delivered a goal feast in the first half to trounce Bishops Cleeve 5-0 for a rare away win.

Bennett had claimed the matchball by half time as he struck three goals in a crazy 10 minute spell.

After Brandon Mundy had broken the deadlock from a Tommy Wright cross, Bennett scored his first on 32 minutes with a neat finish from a pass launched forward.

Three minutes later, partner-in-crime Wright broke down the right and crossed for Bennett who sent a looping header over the deserted Matt Wieczorek.

He then scored another header from a corner for his 16th of the campaign.

And on the stroke of half-time Wright go in on the act with his first and Salisbury's fifth.

Bishops, who had conceded five goals for the first time all season, created a series of half chances after the break.

Jack Watts pulled a curling shot over the bar before Jacob Davidge also missed the target in the closing stages.

Whites held on to record a first clean sheet in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West since mid-October.

Bennett told JournalSport: "A great win and much-needed after our last two results. On a personal level, it was nice to get the hat-trick after missing some good chances recently but I'd have settled for a scrappy 1-0 win as the three points were more important."

Steve Claridge's side are back up to eighth and five points off the play-offs, looking to close the gap when fellow promotion-contenders Shortwood United visit on Saturday (3pm).
