SALISBURY FC heaped more misery on rock-bottom Bridgewater Town with a 3-1 victory to boost their bid for promotion.

Two Tommy Wright penalties and Brandon Mundy's strike was enough to consolidate sixth spot in Southern League Division One South and West.

They have now closed the gap to three points behind Swindon Supermarine, who occupy fifth spot.

And victory tomorrow night at Paulton Rovers - a game in hand - would see Whites leap into the play-offs heading into Boxing Day's derby with AFC Totton at the Ray Mac (2pm).

The game at Winterfield Road was postponed in October due to heavy fog so the club have decided to make it FREE entry (7.30pm).

A collection will be taken at the match for the Dorothy House Hospice at Winsley, which is in Wiltshire and serves the area covered by both clubs.

Friends of the late Paulton supporter, and member, Jeff Mountjoy will be collecting. He was an active fundraiser for the hospice for a number of years.
