SALISBURY gained revenge on Yate Town for an Evo-Stik Southern One South and West defeat at the Jelf Stadium earlier this season by comfortably beating the ten-man Bluebells last Saturday.

After a goalless first half, the deadlock was broken five minutes into the second period.

Tommy Wright was picked out from a perfectly-judged through ball from George Colson and was upended by last man Treyvond Anderson who was sent off. And the striker fired in off the post.

Ten minutes later, Mason Walsh went on a mazy run on the left wing and pulled back across the face of goal for Tom Whelan whose thumping shot deflected into the back of the net.

Whites' pressure continued and good work down the right from Colson allowed Justin Bennett to break through and produce a trademark finish.

Bennett then added a second on 79 minutes and Salisbury's fourth thanks to smart work from partner-in-crime Wright, who skipped past several challenges before dodging the lunge of Harvey Rivers with a squared past to Bennett. He had the simplest of tasks to convert his 35th goal of the season.

Yate are at home to Evesham on Saturday and will be hoping to break their run of ten matches without a win.

While the Bluebells are in little danger of falling into the relegation zone, as they are 12 points above the drop zone, manager Paul Britton will certainly like to have a first victory of 2017 this weekend.
