SAFETY plans are being put in place ahead of Salisbury’s league clash with Hereford amid concerns of crowd trouble following a violent pitch invasion on Saturday.

Bulls’ game at Didcot Town was abandoned after 87 minutes when a mass brawl unfolded behind the goal after Mike Symons had scored to put the visitors 2-1 ahead.

About 100 people were involved in the incident and two 19-year-old men from Hereford were arrested.

The FA say they are considering an ‘Extraordinary Incident Report’ following the altercations.

Whites host champions-elect Hereford on Saturday, March 25 and the club say they are putting safety measures in place to avoid any disturbances.

Amanda Newbery, who used to be the Whites’ acting CEO but is still involved in helping the club, posted the following on Facebook.

“I’ve worked in amongst the Hereford fans at our home games and also away.

“They’re getting a pretty hard time right now based on the actions of a few. The management at Hereford need to look at themselves. The same way we need to look at ourselves when we manage our stadium. So, as far as I’m concerned, I’m looking forward to our match on 25th March. We will work with our fans and we should expect Hereford to do the same.

“We will be supported by the police and that’s quite right. Firm and fair.”
