CHARLIE Searle has returned to the Ray Mac, coming on a season-long-loan from Havant and Waterlooville.

Searle first signed for Salisbury FC from the Hawks, at the turn of the new year in 2016 and went on to make 23 appearances that season.

He helped the Whites to the Wessex League title and the semi final of the FA Vase, they did secure his services last season, but only temporally, after being recalled by Havant, only a few weeks after signing.

The 21-year-old was told by parent club Havant that he was not allowed to play for the Whites in any cup competitions when he signed last year, resulting in his short spell with the club.

But both clubs are happy this season for him to play in all competitions for Salisbury, he comes in to the squad following the departure of Alex Bass who returned to back to his parent club Portsmouth.

Boss Steve Claridge told the club website: “We never wanted Charlie to leave so it is great to welcome him back. He is a good young goalkeeper available at the right price and we’ll be looking forward for him to perform as he did for us the season before last.”

Searle will join up with the rest of the squad as they start their pre-season training on Tuesday, June 27.
