SWINDON Supermarine have leapfrogged Salisbury FC in the league following their 2-0 win over the Whites at the Ray Mac on Tuesday night.

Two second half Supermarine goals were enough to take all three points in a game which saw Marvin Brooks sent off and a Whites goal disallowed.

Brooks was shown a straight red card just before half time for an alleged stamp on a Supermarine player.

Salisbury created plenty of chances in the first half, but couldn’t find a way through the North Wiltshire side’s defence.

On 19 minutes, the Whites had three great opportunities to take the lead with the ball being cleared off the line and eventually cleared.

Tom Whelan then had his shot saved on 24 minutes and injury struck again for the Whites on 30 minutes, as Chris Shephard left the pitch with a minor injury.

Five minutes later the ball was in the back of the net for the Whites, following a goalmouth scramble, but referee Martin Bloor blew his whistle and disallowed the goal.

In the first minute of injury time in the first half, forward Brooks was given his marching orders for an alleged stamp.

With the Whites starting the second half with ten men, it was always going to be a tough challenge and when 1-0 down in the 51st minute, Ryan Campbell created space for himself on the left and managed to squeeze the ball past Charlie Searle at his near post and take the lead for the away side.

George Colson and Eddie Perrett were then introduced to the fray to try and get something from the game for the Whites.

Perrett went close with a header but it struck the bar and was eventually cleared by the Supermarine defence.

The North Wiltshire side made sure they took home all three points in the third minute of injury time. Substitute George Kellow was played though on goal, Searle came flying out, but the forward steered the ball past him and then slotted home to make it 2-0.
