LOYAL Steve Claridge has vowed his commitment to Salisbury in his quest to mastermind back-to-back promotions.

The Whites boss is focusing on adding a second piece of silverware to the trophy cabinet following last season’s Sydenhams title triumph.

His side are in the play-off hunt as they chase promotion to Southern Premier.

They are currently in fourth position with 10 games to go.

Claridge insists it’s a challenge he’s relishing and when asked by JournalSport if he had any plans on moving on, he replied:“I’m happy doing what I’m doing.

“We’ve got a fantastic football club, really good players and good people behind the scenes.

“Am I actively looking to leave, no I’m not. Am I actively looking to get the club to the next level and see where we go from there, yes I am.

“I’m fine, doing exactly what I’m doing. I’m enjoying it, always have. Just got to concentrate on what I’m doing here.

“I can honestly say that since I’ve started here I’ve never even thought about or considered going anywhere else or leaving.

“People have got to understand the situations I’ve found myself in at Millwall and at Weymouth and at Portsmouth.

“I needed/wanted a job with a little bit of security where people weren’t going to get caught in a boardroom fight and get rid of me.”

“I needed a little bit of control and I’ve got that here.

"I don’t think anyone can complain about the job I’ve done and anyone else has done.

"There will be a time when, yeah, I will want to move on and go to a better level but that isn’t now.”

Whites are back in home action on Saturday when they welcome Larkhall Athletic to the Ray Mac (3pm).
