SALISBURY FC have signed attacking midfielder Marvin Brooks, from National League South side Poole Town.

The 27-year-old has been with the club for six seasons and drops down two leagues to join Steve Claridge’s side.

Brooks, scored 14 goals in 33 appearances for the Dorset side and helped them to a fifth place finish last season. Steve Claridge spoke to club website and said: “I’ve watched him, Callum Hart has watched him and we both agree that he is quality.

“He’s a natural attacker in my view. He’s 6ft tall, quick, strong and good in the air. I think he’ll be a big player for us.”

Despite mostly playing as a midfielder Claridge is looking to play him as a striker, and the Whites will certainly need more fire power up-front having lost the 92 goal partnership of Tommy Wright and Justin Bennett.

Brooks, is the club’s fourth signing so far this summer, with the Whites already securing the services of Weymouth duo Jake Wannell and Chris Shephard and recent signing Stuart Green from Winchester City.

Claridge spoke about Green and told the club website: “He’s a real nice lad who had plenty of offers but wanted to come to us because he likes what we’re looking to achieve.

“Stuart’s got good energy, gets around the pitch, has a good eye for goal and will also offer us leadership qualities, having been Winchester’s captain last season.”

The club have also said that they are in talks with a couple of players, with one potentially being a goalkeeper and the other a striker.
