Salisbury & District League roundup - November 24/25
11:14pm Thursday 29th November 2012 in Headlines
DURRINGTON Dynamos needed extra time to secure a Morrison Cup semi-final place against Nomansland & Landford, who gave them a real fright, on Saturday.
They went ahead in difficult conditions, but Lloyd Hutchinson levelled for Nomansland before the break. The visitors then had the ball in the net twice, but both were disallowed for offside.
Dynamos went ahead with a penalty in extra time and eventually got a third, but Nomansland will take great heart from their gutsy performance.
In the Premier Division, Mike Rynne and Ash Melvin put Deacon Alms 2-0 up at Whiteparish. The home team fought back to level though, and even had a great chance to level with a penalty but they squandered it in the second half.
The Deacons grabbed the three points when Troy Greaves headed home from close range late in the game.
Durrington WMC secured only their second win of the season in convincing fashion, winning 10-0 at Enford. Ritchie Toomer opened the scoring, and debutant John Lane helped himself to a first-half hat trick.
Lane took his tally to six after the break, Richard Tayor got two and James Kenny netted as well.
