SOUTH Wilts Charity B Cup holders Boscombe Down Rec Club were humbled at Halfway House reserves on Saturday.

Boscombe took the lead just after half time before Halfway took control, Harry Bennett leading the way with a superb hat-trick. Aaron Thornborough chipped in with a well-taken strike after beating two challenges, and Boscombe, who played their part in a thoroughly entertaining game, pulled one back.

Ben Betteridge went clean through to make it 5-2. Halfway will play Devizes Inn in the semi-final.

In the Premier Division, Durrington Dynamos went top with a 2-1 win over Deacon Alms.

Also, Porton Sports came from 2-0 down to get a point against Stockton & Codford.

Porton had the lion's share of possession in the first 15 minutes of the game and had a glorious chance to take the lead but Tom Parker blasted over. Stockton then dominated the remainder of the half and a goalkeeping miskick fell straight to the Stockton striker who blasted home.

Porton were soon 2-0 down when a long ball through the middle was latched onto and fired home. Andy Mearns reduced the arrears before half time with a 20-yard curling shot into the corner.

The second half was very dull with neither side creating too many chances. Porton got the equalizer five minutes from time when they were awarded a penalty and Doug Malcolm stepped up to snatch a point.

Nomansland & Landford went ahead early on against Deacon Alms reserves, through Ben Gauntlett, and strike partner Dan Jones neatly chipped the second after 15 minutes. Deacons deservedly pulled one back before the break, then Dan Hayward's low drive made it 3-1 on the hour.

Lloyd Jolliffe thumped home a great header to make it four, Deacons got another back, and Hayward had the last word with a piledriver into the top corner to make it 5-2.
