Whites get going again
Conference South pacesetters Salisbury City travel to fellow promotion-chasers Farnborough tomorrow.
Darrell Clarke’s side haven’t played for nearly two weeks after matches against Truro and Eastleigh were cancelled because of the torrential downpour.
But if the Rushmoor Community Stadium manages to beat the weather, then tomorrow’s meeting (3pm) should go ahead.
Dan Fitchett’s stoppage-time winner was the only goal that separated the two sides when they last clashed at the Ray Mac on August 27.
And like City, Farnborough are in a steady position, sitting in fifth and have showed tremendous character to bounce back from a wobbly August and September.
“Farnborough are flying-high and it’s going to be another difficult game,” said Clarke.
“Spencer Day has done a fantastic job there and having just signed Reece Connolly for decent money, who used to be on loan with us, is a good purchase.
“They’ve got a good set of players who can hurt you on the day. Plus their home form’s generally very good.”
On New Year’s Day, the Whites go head to head with Hampshire rivals Eastleigh at the Ray Mac (3pm).
