Taylor smashes home 13 goals for South Newton
TAYLOR Oakley scored an incredible 13 goals as South Newton & Wishford under 13s started their season in the Mid Wilts Red Division with a 16-1 thrashing of Chippenham Youth Panthers.
They actually went a goal down but responded quickly, and the defence had to stand strong at times. The other goals came from Chey Hayer (two) and Harry Russell.
Sarum Youth’s under tens also had a thumping win, beating Durrington 17-0. Dylan Tunney got eight of them, with the others coming from Elliot Eyre (four), Oscar Ball (two), David Offer (two) and Jay Devine.
The under 14s fell behind to Bath Arsenal, then Brad Williams rode three tackles before calmly finishing to equalise. Liam Greenough’s fine volley put them ahead at the break, and he helped himself to another two to complete his hat-trick and reach 100 goals for the club. Bath pulled one back from the spot. Player of the match was Connor Dundon.
Sarum’s under 15s beat Vernham Dean 5-2 at home.
Fordingbridge Town under 16s started their season with a 4-1 win at Alderbury, despite going behind to an excellent header. Oscar Rutherford- Steggall equalised from the penalty spot and in the second half, Stuart Melbourne netted twice with two excellent finishes before a flowing passing move ended with Alex Payne rounding off the scoring.
Salisbury City under 14s won 6-2 at Bath. The confidence was flowing and they had six different scorers – Theo Card, Alex Easterbrook, Zak Ford, Will Lewis, George Higgins and Harvey Richardson.
Alderbury under 13s recorded their first victory in the Mid Wilts League, 5-2 against Trowbridge Wanderers. Goals from Harry Schneider, Bradley Chalke, Ryan Sartain and Harry Iles (two) did the damage.
Durrington under 12s won a local derby 4-3 at Amesbury in the South Wilts League. Haydyn Waters put them ahead but it was 1-1 at the interval. Amesbury took the lead, then Waters’ corner deflected in before Amesbury went 3-2 up.
Josh Buxcey equalised and Morgan Harvey settled an entertaining game.
West Harnham under 12s made it back-to-back wins in the Testway League with a comfortable 3-1 win at home to Clarendon Juniors. Ed Stagg put the home side ahead with a long range effort and Louis Smith made it two before the break.
In the second half Smith slotted home the third after a fantastic move down the right. Clarendon deservedly pulled a consolation goal back towards the end.
