LOWLY Nomansland came close to causing an upset away at reigning champions Durrington Dynamoes on Saturday.

Ben Gauntlett gave the visitors an early lead, which was cancelled out in the 88th minute to deny the hosts a rare win in Salisbury and District (Saturday) Premier Division.

In the Heseltine cup, Value Cars will meet Amesbury Kings Arms in the semi-final after both teams were victorious in their quarter-final clashes.

James Hennessy’s hat-trick inspired Value Cars to their third straight win, with the game finishing 4-3 (AET).

Two goals from Hennessy gave Cars a comfortable first half cushion but a battling Deacon Alms turned the game on its head and led 3-2 with ten minutes left.

But the hosts showed their character when Adam Guyatts equalised in stoppage time and Hennessy hit the winner in extra time.

There was no seven goal madness in Amesbury’s clash with West Harnham, just the one goal which came from the spot.

Ashley Fox won his side a penalty, which was tucked away by Nick Voce to secure his side’s place in the last four.

Stockton Codford Reserves, 3-2 victors over Whiteparish, will fill the other semifinal slot against the winner of Saturday’s tie between Durrington WMC and Chalke Valley.

A battling display from Alderbury Dragons under 11s was not quite enough to beat a strong Amesbury juniors side who came out 5-2 winners.

Alderbury under 13s had a convincing win against FC Chippenham Youth at Stanley Park to take them to the next round of the Mid Wilts League Cup. Goals from Adam Hatch, Jacob Norcliffe, Connor Vaughan, Ryan Payne (2) Brad Chalke (2) and a hattrick from Harry Schneider completed the 10-0 victory.

Sarum Youth under tens maintained their 100 per cent winning streak at the hands of Durrington in the South Wilts League.

Elsewhere, Shrewton under 14s lost their latest North Wilts League match away at leaders Stanley Park.

A poor first half performance saw them 3-0 down at the break. However, a much better second half effort saw Shrewton pull a goal back through Tom Stagg, before the home side responded to run out 5-1 winners.

West Harnham under 12s eased their way into the next round of the Testway League cup with a 6-1 victory over South Wonston.
