CITY of Salisbury athletes made their mark in the Wiltshire cross country championships at Bath University, with a first place, a trio of seconds and a third among a crop of good performances.
Abigail Burn in the under 13s was the day’s one winner, taking a county title, and in the next age group Maisie Grant was second as was Hermione Seymour in the under 17s.
The rapidly improving Rob Mann took a notable second place in the senior men’s event, just ahead of Steve Herring in third and Ben Brewster fifth.
Among the boys, Jay Domoney was seventh in the under 15s and Ben Saunby ninth.
On the road, a well-travelled Stuart Holloway clocked a good 55min 11sec at the rapid Stockport 10mile in which more than 20 runners beat the hour.
