SAM Matthews was on target for Amesbury Town but they didn’t get the result they wished for on Friday.
Visitors Pewsey Vale, chasing promotion in Sydenhams Division One, left Bonnymead Park with a 3-1 victory.
But Amesbury have a chance to make amends when they host Team Solent on Saturday (3pm).
Also losing by the same scoreline in Division One was Laverstock and Ford, slipping up at United Services Portsmouth.
Ollie Batchelor struck Laverstock’s only goal, nine minutes from time.
“Portsmouth were much improved from the side we played in the first game of the season and are now eight games unbeaten,” said Lavvy boss Robbie Lakeman.
“Hopefully we can find some good form in the coming games and get on a new year roll.”
l Nicholas Newman has signed for Laverstock, while Oliver Vines has penned a deal with Amesbury.
