A YOUNG footballer from Salisbury will feature at Swindon Town’s County Ground in a life-changing match that could see him win a professional contract.
Jake Burgess, 16, is among the remaining 22 amateur hopefuls competing in the final round of Samsung’s nationwide Win A Pro Contract competition, with the prize being a chance to sign for Swindon, Leyton Orient or Wycombe Wanderers.
The 11-aside match will take place on Sunday, January 12, and will be witnessed by participant club managers and scouts.
“It is my dream to become a professional footballer one day and I’m now one step closer to really doing it,” said the BTEC Sport student, pictured above, from Totton College.
“Being the youngest through to the final, I really want to show that I can play with the older guys.”
