DESPITE bad weather causing constant disruptions across the non-league scene, there were a few survivors on Saturday, with two Salisbury sides notching up crucial wins.

Bemerton Heath Harlequins scored two second half goals to seal a 2-1 victory over high-rated Blackfield and Langley at Western Way. The win moved them into eighth and set them up nicely for Saturday’s trip to the Forest for Brockenhurst.

Joining the winning success was Division One outfit Laverstock and Ford, who blasted four, without response, past New Milton Town.

William Knight, Kieran Mulcahy and Thomas Mundy got on the score sheet.

Adding to the good news at the Dell is former Harlequins player Liam Hynes, who has re-joined for the remainder of the campaign.

He could feature at lowly Andover New Street on Saturday (3pm).

But ending 2013 on a slippery slope are Ringwood Town, slumping to a 0-2 home defeat to Tadley Calleva.

They welcome Hayling United at the weekend.

Losing out on the chance to maximise points over the Christmas period were Amesbury Town as their Friday night clash with Andover New Street was postponed.

Verwood Town were also painful victims of the flooding, having their past four games called off.

They will look to get back on track at Horndean on Saturday (3pm).
