IN-FORM Stuart Holloway, from the City of Salisbury club, ran one of his shortest road races of the season, a fivemile race at Romsey on Sunday, to help sharpen up his speed for a series of forthcoming longer fixtures.
His time of 26min 22sec on the course around the Broadlands Estate never threatened the winner, the flying Alex Wall-Clarke of Southampton AC, but it was still good enough to give him third place.
Further down the field, Andy Robbins continued his improving form to clock a personal best 37.36 as did Jay Friedlander with an encouraging 38.06.
This weekend the Salisbury club travels in strength to the hilly 10mile league road race at Ryde, Isle of Wight. The men’s A team intend on replacing Stubbington Green AC at the top of the Hampshire road race table and the ladies’ A team plan to close the gap on leaders Winchester.
