WEST Harnham under 12s travelled to Bishops Waltham and pulled off a shock 6-2 victory against the Testway League high-fliers, to reach the league cup semi final.

With a number of regulars injured or unavailable, Harnham were forced to play top scorer Ed Stagg at the back but he still managed to get forward to put the visitors’ one up after just two minutes. Shortly afterwards, Ollie Bayliss made it two with his maiden goal for the club, but the hosts pulled one back just before the break.

In the second half, Louis Smith made it 3-1 before the home side scored again.

However, despite strong pressure from the home side, Harnham defended superbly and were very effective on the counter attack. Further goals from Smith, Stagg - from the penalty spot - and a great strike from Freddy Axton concluded an emphatic victory.

Meanwhile Alderbury Dragons’ under 11s put in one of their best performances of the season as they came from behind to win 2-1 over a strong Durrington side. The comeback was completed by Jacob King and Ollie Savage.

The club’s currently recruiting for its ladies team who play in the Hampshire County Women’s League on sundays.
