Appearing 150 times is a "little achievement" for Brett
LONG-SERVING Ryan Brett pencilled his name into Salisbury City’s history books after appearing for the 150th time.
Brett, 23, racked up the impressive playing total in the Challenge 2000 match last month, in which the city side recorded their second biggest attendance of Skrill Premier.
“I’ve been at Salisbury a long time and really enjoyed myself,” the versatile player said, who signed under Darrell Clarke three years ago.
“I had no idea I had made 150 appearances until I received a tweet from Elliott Frear calling me Mr Salisbury for making so many appearances.
“It’s a little achievement for myself.”
After clocking two more appearances to his playing record following consecutive away wins at Braintree Town and Hyde respectively, the naturally left-footed player is still envisaging a place in the top five as City line-up for their remaining four fixtures.
He added: “We’ve been through a difficult period because of injuries with a threadbare squad, but we’ve come up trumps in our last two games.
“We’re a good bunch of lads and everyone plays their part. We’ve got four games left, so who knows what can happen. Anyone can beat anyone in the Conference. We’ve played a lot of the so called bigger teams and didn’t pick up any results.
“If we want to do something this season and get somewhere we need to get a lot of points between now and April 26.
“We’ve got a good chance of getting in the top five. You have to be positive and believe you can do it.”
