PHIL Muspratt returned home from the Scottish Gas National Masters Short Course Championships with four gold medals.

The Salisbury Stingrays swimmer, who was amid competitors from across the UK and Spain, travelled to the national event at the Aquatic Centre in the Aberdeen Sports Village on Good Friday.

He posted a decent time of 52.08secs when he first plunged into the pool for the 100m freestyle, which resulted in gold.

This was backed up by first positions in 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke (27.24) and clocked 23.18 in 50m freestyle.

Reflecting on the experience, Muspratt, sponsored by Jones & Co, said he was happy with the weekend.

Now he is focusing on upcoming championships.

He said: “I have the British Championships in June and the World Championships in August, so it's very much a case of getting my head down and working really hard.”
