A LARGE crowd risked the foul weather to witness fast-paced motorsport action during Gurston Down’s 300th anniversary weekend.
The sinuous 967-metre Hillclimb course was used by British Touring Car Championship star Matt Neal, pictured, who entertained on Sunday in the Honda Racing/Synchro Motorsport Jazz by winning the chairman’s invitation class ahead of fellow Honda man Alyn James in the Synchro Civic.
Clocking the best time of the day across the two-day event was Peter Smith from Wantage in his 1.6 Force single-seater.
The record time set from Sunday’s motorbikes was Northampton’s Glynn Poole on a 500cc Honda CR.
The next event at the Broad Chalke track is a British Hillclimb Championship counter on May 24 and 25.
