ROVING professional racing driver Ollie Pidgley showed great speed in his season opener at Rockingham Super Speedway, Northamptonshire.
The 16-year-old went into the race as the least experienced in a field of 19 drivers in the Michelin Clio Cup series and surpassed expectations to finish fourth and clock the fastest lap.
He went three better in the sport cup with victory.
Pidgley, a former Trafalgar School pupil, has returned to MSA academy for young talented drivers and McLaren on their performance academy, before heading to a second meeting at Outlon Park on Saturday, May 17.
