THE torrential rain on Saturday accounted for all three of Redlynch & Hale’s senior teams league matches.
The first team game in County 3 (North) was the first casualty when Steep called the game off early, thus saving more wasted travel.
The second XI did manage a start at Woodfalls Cross against New Milton 3rd XI, where Dave Webber had hit a splendid 56 not out with 11 fours to help his side to 74-3, before the heavens opened and the game was abandoned
And the third string travelled to Broughton, but the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled as heavy rain and thunder echoed around the ground.
The only cricket completed took place either side of the rain. The Under 9s continued their campaign with another victory. They posted 277-4 in the pairs’ format of the game, with Ben Wordley (12) and Lewis Fishlock (13). In reply, Lyndhurst and Ashurst mustered 245-2.
On Sunday, the under 11 side completed their first win of the season in an exciting game with Bramshaw. Redlynch & Hale scored 258-5, with Jon Castleton blasting 26. Bramshaw's response was restricted to 242-6.
