POSH frocks will be on show when thousands of race-goers head to Salisbury Racecourse for Ladies’ Evening on Saturday night.

Almost 7,000 people flocked to the Netherhampton Road course last year with a similar figure expected this year.

Executive director and clerk of the course Jeremy Martin, pictured, said: “The second Saturday in July is becoming the most popular paid for raceday in the UK. We stage one of our top events on this day and nearly 7,000 attended last year. There’s always a fantastic atmosphere at evening racing meetings.”

The gates at Salisbury Racecourse, which has been named in the top ten racecourses in England and Wales by The Racecourse Association (RCA), assessed by VisitEngland, open at 4pm, with the first of seven races starting at 5:55pm.

Immediately following the final race at 9pm will be an open air concert by The Fillers – a Killers tribute band.

Tickets for the Bibury Enclosure have now sold out but there are still places available in the Grandstand and Paddock and Course Enclosure.
